The Story Behind the Print
Ferdinand Graf Zeppelin’s U.S. Patent 621,195, granted March 14, 1899, documents a rigid navigable balloon built around a framed elongated envelope, internal gas cells, suspended cars, and steering apparatus. The patent captures the airship as a complete engineered structure.
The commanding side elevation is paired with a circular section and rigging detail, giving the sheet a clean vertical monumentality. Restored black linework sits on cool timeworn rag paper within the collection’s restrained black double rule.

About the Frame
Framed pieces are built to order in solid wood with clear acrylic glazing, dry-mounted artwork, a kraft paper dust cover, and hanging wire. Each piece arrives ready to hang. No mat. Satin Black has a 7/8-inch face and adds 1.25 inches to the total width and height. Slimwood Silver and Slimwood Gold have a 1 1/8-inch face and add 1.75 inches to the total width and height.
