Florideae Print, Tafel 65Ernst Haeckel · c. 1904

Tafel 65 from Ernst Haeckel's Kunstformen der Natur (1904), titled Florideae, Rotalgen (red algae).. The plate is printed in crimson and pink on a cream ground, with numbered figures, the heading Tafel 65 — Delesseria and the title below.

Red algae are drawn as feathery fronds, ribbed leaves and rounded tufts. A round, branching form sits at the top center, with a bunch of stalked, lobed heads at the upper right, and a feathery frond with a ribbed center runs down the middle. Ruffled and broad-leaved forms fill the right, a coral-like tuft the bottom, and two cross-sections, one round and one mound-shaped, sit in the lower corners.

Printed on 325gsm museum-grade archival matte paper using fade-resistant giclée printing with archival inks, preserving the detail and character of the original for generations.

Colors may vary slightly between screens and the finished piece — the print will always be richer.
