The Story Behind the Print

This 1895 Foster, Rhode Island map print shows the whole town on soft warm paper, from Foster Centre and its Christian Church and Town House to Hopkins Mills, South Foster and Moosup Valley.

The Westconnaug Reservoir sits on the eastern edge and the Ponaganset River crosses the north, with Hartford Pike, Killingley Road, Jerimoth Hill, Mount Hygeia and Pray Hill all named. Glocester, Scituate, Kent and Connecticut line the borders, and an index map shows Providence County.

Framed pieces are built to order in solid wood with clear acrylic glazing, dry-mounted artwork, a kraft paper dust cover, and hanging wire. Each piece arrives ready to hang. No mat. Satin Black has a 7/8-inch face and adds 1.25 inches to the total width and height. Slimwood Silver and Slimwood Gold have a 1 1/8-inch face and add 1.75 inches to the total width and height.
