The Story Behind the Print
Frank Whittle’s U.S. Patent 2168726, granted August 8, 1939, documents a gas-turbine aircraft propulsion system integrating compressor, combustion chamber, turbine, and exhaust flow.
Long engine sections and concentric mechanical stages give the sheet a powerful streamlined industrial character. This restored edition preserves the original patent arrangement in crisp black linework on cool, timeworn rag paper within the collection’s restrained black double rule.
Printed to order on 325gsm museum-grade archival matte paper with fade-resistant archival pigment inks. A natural piece for aviation rooms, offices, engineering studios, and collections of jet-age history.

About the Frame
Framed pieces are built to order in solid wood with clear acrylic glazing, dry-mounted artwork, a kraft paper dust cover, and hanging wire. Each piece arrives ready to hang. No mat. Satin Black has a 7/8-inch face and adds 1.25 inches to the total width and height. Slimwood Silver and Slimwood Gold have a 1 1/8-inch face and add 1.75 inches to the total width and height.
