The Story Behind the Print
This 1866 Groton, New York map print shows Groton in a faded sage wash on warm cream paper, with lettered streets, an inlet, building footprints and lot owners' names.
The map letters streets named Main, Church, William, Cortland, Cayuga, Spring, Elm, South, Clark, Sikes and Barrows, with the Town Hall, Academy, Groton Rural Cemetery and an inlet named, a numbered key to stores, a hotel and the 1st National Bank, and a Groton Business Directory.
Archive Print Co. restores each map for clarity while preserving the aged cartographic character of the original. Each reproduction is printed as a giclée art print on heavyweight 325gsm archival matte paper with archival inks.
Colors may vary slightly between screens and the finished piece; the print will always be richer in person.
