The Story Behind the Print
Igor I. Sikorsky’s U.S. Patent 1994488, granted March 19, 1935, documents a direct-lift aircraft with powered rotors and control mechanisms developed to manage lift, stability, and directional movement.
Aircraft elevations, rotor geometry, and control details create a dramatic aviation plate alive with radial motion. This restored edition preserves the original patent arrangement in crisp black linework on cool, timeworn rag paper within the collection’s restrained black double rule.
Printed to order on 325gsm museum-grade archival matte paper with fade-resistant archival pigment inks. A natural piece for offices, libraries, aviation rooms, and collections of flight history.

About the Frame
Framed pieces are built to order in solid wood with clear acrylic glazing, dry-mounted artwork, a kraft paper dust cover, and hanging wire. Each piece arrives ready to hang. No mat. Satin Black has a 7/8-inch face and adds 1.25 inches to the total width and height. Slimwood Silver and Slimwood Gold have a 1 1/8-inch face and add 1.75 inches to the total width and height.
