The Story Behind the Print
Lewis H. Latimer’s U.S. Patent 252,386, granted January 17, 1882, documents Lewis Latimer’s process and apparatus for manufacturing durable carbon conductors for incandescent electric lamps.
Molds, carbon stock, and manufacturing sections create a beautifully ordered electric-light study. This restored edition preserves the original Patent Office arrangement in crisp black linework on cool, timeworn rag paper within the collection’s restrained black double rule.
Printed to order on 325gsm museum-grade archival matte paper with fade-resistant archival pigment inks. A natural piece for offices, libraries, workshops, and collections of invention and industrial design.
Colors may vary slightly between screens and the finished piece—the print will always be richer.
