The Story Behind the Print

This 1969 nautical chart of Los Angeles and Long Beach Harbors was issued by the U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey for the twin harbors inside the long breakwater, California. Warm land tones and pale water give the sheet the calm, practical look of a working mariner's chart.

Los Angeles and Long Beach Harbors are drawn across this sheet, with the Los Angeles main channel and Terminal Island on the left, Wilmington and the inner basins at the top, and the Long Beach piers and Middle Harbor on the right, all inside the long breakwaters of San Pedro Bay. The street grids of San Pedro, Wilmington and Long Beach are drawn in, the Cerritos Channel links the two ports, and the turning basins and lettered anchorage areas are marked. Soundings cover the harbors and the bay, with four compass roses over the water.

Printed on 325gsm museum-grade archival matte paper using fade-resistant giclée printing with archival inks, ensuring your vintage nautical chart will maintain its maritime heritage for generations.

Colors may vary slightly between screens and the finished piece — the print will always be richer.
