The Story Behind the Print
Louis A. A. Le Prince’s U.S. Patent 376,247, granted January 10, 1888, documents Louis Le Prince’s method and apparatus for producing animated pictures from a rapid sequence of photographic exposures.
Camera sections, circular exposure openings, and the film path form a precise foundational cinema diagram. This restored edition preserves the original Patent Office arrangement in crisp black linework on cool, timeworn rag paper within the collection’s restrained black double rule.
Printed to order on 325gsm museum-grade archival matte paper with fade-resistant archival pigment inks. A natural piece for offices, libraries, workshops, and collections of invention and industrial design.

About the Frame
Framed pieces are built to order in solid wood with clear acrylic glazing, dry-mounted artwork, a kraft paper dust cover, and hanging wire. Each piece arrives ready to hang. No mat. Satin Black has a 7/8-inch face and adds 1.25 inches to the total width and height. Slimwood Silver and Slimwood Gold have a 1 1/8-inch face and add 1.75 inches to the total width and height.
