The Story Behind the Print

This 1873 Manalapan, New Jersey map print shows the township in a pale hand-brushed sage wash on warm cream paper. Fine property lettering, turnpikes and a railroad make it a detailed study piece.

The map names Englishtown P.O., Manalapan P.O., Blacks Mills P.O., Lafayette Mills, Battle Ground Station and Wemrock, with Middlesex Co. and Marlboro lettered along its borders. Its ponds keep their original black engraving on neutral paper, and township business notices fill the lower right.

Archive Print Co. restores each map for clarity while preserving the aged cartographic character of the original. Each reproduction is printed as a giclée art print on heavyweight 325gsm archival matte paper with archival inks.

Colors may vary slightly between screens and the finished piece; the print will always be richer in person.

“I contacted Paola and asked if she could print me a Sanibel Island map - even though there wasn't one on her page for sale. She immediately responded with "yes" and sent me a photograph before printing for me to approve. My package came well protected; and my picture is absolutely perfect! It looks beautiful in the distressed wood frame I bought. My mom is going to love it; and now I have to order one for myself!”

“I absolutely love my framed map of Charleston. I ordered the 36x48 and it looks gorgeous hanging in my kitchen. The size makes it such a statement piece and everyone comments on how much they like it! It came with the hanging hardware, which was helpful and easy to use.”
