Nikola Tesla’s U.S. Patent 381968, granted May 1, 1888, documents a polyphase alternating-current motor whose energized field coils create a rotating magnetic field to drive the armature.
Circular motor sections, winding diagrams, and electrical connections form one of the collection’s most intricate geometric plates. This restored edition preserves the original patent arrangement in crisp black linework on cool, timeworn rag paper within the collection’s restrained black double rule.
