The Story Behind the Print
This vintage Louisiana Tanager and Scarlet Tanager print reproduces plate 354 from John James Audubon's nineteenth-century Birds of America, restored as historical wall art for studies, libraries and botanical gallery walls.
Five tanagers form a bright vertical arrangement among pale green leaves and branching stems. Two yellow birds with orange-red heads perch above a scarlet bird with spread black wings, while quieter olive-yellow companions occupy the lower branches; finely drawn feathers distinguish each figure.
Archive Print Co. restores each illustration for clarity while preserving the character of the original. Each reproduction is printed as a giclée art print on heavyweight 325gsm archival matte paper with archival inks.
Colors may vary slightly between screens and the finished piece; the print will always be richer in person.
