The Story Behind the Print
This Audubon bird print reproduces plate 358 from John James Audubon's nineteenth-century Birds of America. The historical engraving names the subject Pine Grosbeak.
Three grosbeaks rest among slender pine branches: a rosy-red bird below, a gray-brown bird to the right, and a darker bird above. Their overlapping wings, finely drawn needles and small numbered figures give the plate its quiet woodland character. The original No. 72, Plate CCCLVIII, engraved title and printer's credits remain visible.
Archive Print Co. restores each illustration for clarity while preserving the character of the original. Each reproduction is printed as a giclée art print on heavyweight 325gsm archival matte paper with archival inks.

About the Frame
Framed pieces are built to order in solid wood with clear acrylic glazing, dry-mounted artwork, a kraft paper dust cover, and hanging wire. Each piece arrives ready to hang. No mat. Satin Black has a 7/8-inch face and adds 1.25 inches to the total width and height. Slimwood Silver and Slimwood Gold have a 1 1/8-inch face and add 1.75 inches to the total width and height.
