The Story Behind the Print

This Audubon bird print reproduces plate 399 from John James Audubon's nineteenth-century Birds of America. The original engraving names the Black-throated Green Warbler, Blackburnian Warbler and Mourning Warbler.

Five warblers gather along the branching stem. Two yellow-faced birds occupy the upper boughs, a brown bird perches at the center, and two olive-and-gray birds appear below among green leaves. The original folio, plate number, figure markings, three species captions and engraved credits remain visible.

Archive Print Co. restores each illustration for clarity while preserving the character of the original. Each reproduction is printed as a giclée art print on heavyweight 325gsm archival matte paper with archival inks.

Colors may vary slightly between screens and the finished piece; the print will always be richer in person.

About the Frame

Framed pieces are built to order in solid wood with clear acrylic glazing, dry-mounted artwork, a kraft paper dust cover, and hanging wire. Each piece arrives ready to hang. No mat. Satin Black has a 7/8-inch face and adds 1.25 inches to the total width and height. Slimwood Silver and Slimwood Gold have a 1 1/8-inch face and add 1.75 inches to the total width and height.

The selected size refers to the artwork itself. Framed orders are custom made and ship within 7 to 10 business days, free in the U.S. See our shipping and return policies for framed piece details.

“We bought the American flamingo framed print. I absolutely love it! Justin was super helpful with the shipping-we live in Hong Kong and these things and I was worried the glass etc may be damaged in shipping-but it arrived in perfect condition. Very happy customer, can highly recommend.”
“This is a beautifully reproduced Audubon print. It has depth of color and fabulous detail. The additional detail in the background makes it look like a real print and not like a reproduction. I've seen many original Audubon prints at Wilson Library at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and this reproduction is extraordinary.”
“The Maryland map I received is stunning-- high quality and exactly as pictured. The seller, Justin, was very knowledgeable and responsive to all my questions about the image. I was able to follow up based on information he shared and provide this information to the recipient of my gift of this map. I will definitely shop here again.”
