The Story Behind the Print
This vintage print reproduces John James Audubon's illustration of the Purple Grakle from Birds of America, plate 7, restored as historical wall art for studies, libraries, and natural history collections.
Dark birds fill a stand of corn, their purple-black and olive-brown plumage set against broad green leaves and reddish silk. The close arrangement of feathers and foliage gives the illustration a rich botanical character.
Archive Print Co. restores each illustration for clarity while preserving the character of the original. Each reproduction is printed as a giclée art print on heavyweight 325gsm archival matte paper with archival inks.

About the Frame
Framed pieces are built to order in solid wood with clear acrylic glazing, dry-mounted artwork, a kraft paper dust cover, and hanging wire. Each piece arrives ready to hang. No mat. Satin Black has a 7/8-inch face and adds 1.25 inches to the total width and height. Slimwood Silver and Slimwood Gold have a 1 1/8-inch face and add 1.75 inches to the total width and height.
