The Story Behind the Print

This vintage department-store children's menu print reproduces a 1929 children's menu from the J.L. Hudson Company in Detroit, restored as historical wall art for kitchens, dining rooms, cafes, and restaurant-themed gallery walls.

Three neatly arranged columns pair period dishes and prices with playful black animal illustrations. The black-and-ivory design records a specific part of department-store dining, combining early commercial typography with imagery intended for young guests.

Printed on 325gsm museum-grade archival matte paper using fade-resistant giclée printing with archival inks, preserving the detail and character of the original for generations.

Colors may vary slightly between screens and the finished piece — the print will always be richer.

About the Frame

Framed pieces are built to order in solid wood with clear acrylic glazing, dry-mounted artwork, a kraft paper dust cover, and hanging wire. Each piece arrives ready to hang. No mat. Satin Black has a 7/8-inch face and adds 1.25 inches to the total width and height. Slimwood Silver and Slimwood Gold have a 1 1/8-inch face and add 1.75 inches to the total width and height.

The selected size refers to the artwork itself. Framed orders are custom made and ship within 7 to 10 business days, free in the U.S. See our shipping and return policies for framed piece details.
