The Story Behind the Print

This vintage Japanese steamship menu print reproduces a circa 1900 dinner menu from the Nippon Yusen Kaisha steamship S.S. Kasuga, restored as historical wall art for dining rooms, studies, libraries, and travel-themed gallery walls.

A colorful Japanese festival illustration surrounds a handwritten menu panel. Red banners, blue patterned clothing, and fine lettering bring together the decorative imagery and dining ephemera of historic ocean travel.

Printed on 325gsm museum-grade archival matte paper using fade-resistant giclée printing with archival inks, preserving the detail and character of the original for generations.

Colors may vary slightly between screens and the finished piece — the print will always be richer.

About the Frame

Framed pieces are built to order in solid wood with clear acrylic glazing, dry-mounted artwork, a kraft paper dust cover, and hanging wire. Each piece arrives ready to hang. No mat. Satin Black has a 7/8-inch face and adds 1.25 inches to the total width and height. Slimwood Silver and Slimwood Gold have a 1 1/8-inch face and add 1.75 inches to the total width and height.
