The Story Behind the Print

This 1966 nautical chart of Seattle to Bremerton was issued by the U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey for the stretch of Puget Sound between the two cities, Washington. Warm land tones and pale water give the sheet the calm, practical look of a working mariner's chart.

This sheet spans Puget Sound from Seattle on the right to Bremerton on the left, with Elliott Bay, the Seattle waterfront piers, Harbor Island and the Duwamish channels along the east side and Lake Union at the top corner. Bainbridge Island sits in the middle with Eagle Harbor and Port Orchard behind it, Rich Passage leads through to Bremerton, Dyes Inlet and Sinclair Inlet, and Blake Island and Vashon Island close the south. Soundings fill the sound, the anchorage areas are marked, and four compass roses sit over the sound and on the land.

Printed on 325gsm museum-grade archival matte paper using fade-resistant giclée printing with archival inks, ensuring your vintage nautical chart will maintain its maritime heritage for generations.

Colors may vary slightly between screens and the finished piece — the print will always be richer.
