The Story Behind the Print
This vintage bird print reproduces John James Audubon's illustration of the Summer or Wood Duck from Birds of America, plate 206. Originally rendered in the nineteenth century, this restoration captures the naturalist's hand-colored engraving for collectors, libraries, and natural history studies.
Wood ducks gather around a hollow tree and leafy branches, with one bird shown in flight. Rich green, blue, chestnut, and cream plumage surrounds the dark nesting cavity in a lively woodland scene.
Archive Print Co. restores each illustration for clarity while preserving the character of the original. Each reproduction is printed as a giclée art print on heavyweight 325gsm archival matte paper with archival inks.

About the Frame
Framed pieces are built to order in solid wood with clear acrylic glazing, dry-mounted artwork, a kraft paper dust cover, and hanging wire. Each piece arrives ready to hang. No mat. Satin Black has a 7/8-inch face and adds 1.25 inches to the total width and height. Slimwood Silver and Slimwood Gold have a 1 1/8-inch face and add 1.75 inches to the total width and height.
