The Story Behind the Print

This 1873 West Amwell, New Jersey map print is washed in soft sage on warm cream paper. Fine property lettering, a canal and numbered districts make it a detailed study piece.

The map names Ringoes P.O., Mountairy, Rocktown, High Valley, Mount Range and New Market, with the Delaware River, Lambertville P.O. and a canal lettered along the western edge. West Amwell and East Amwell Business Notices fill the lower right corner.
