The Story Behind the Print

This 1875 Bedford, Massachusetts map print places the town in a pale hand-brushed sage wash on soft ivory paper. Its winding river edge, roads and lettered properties bring local detail to a study or library.

The town map identifies Bedford P.O., West Bedford, Bedford Springs House, Indian Hill and Silver Hill. The Concord River runs along the western side, and Fawn Lake, the Shawsheen River and Vine Brook stay neutral paper, with roads, schools and named properties reaching toward Billerica, Burlington, Lexington and Concord.

Archive Print Co. restores each map for clarity while preserving the aged cartographic character of the original. Each reproduction is printed as a giclée art print on heavyweight 325gsm archival matte paper with archival inks.

Colors may vary slightly between screens and the finished piece; the print will always be richer in person.

October 2017

“I ordered two prints from Paola and it was a pleasure working with her. She went above and beyond by actually tracking down prints for me that she didn't have listed on the site at the time. The prints arrived in pristine condition, were exactly as shown in the photos and great quality. Would recommend to everyone.”

November 2016
