This 1875 Carlisle, Massachusetts map print places the town in a pale hand-brushed sage wash on soft ivory paper. Its roads, streams and closely lettered properties bring detailed local history to a study or library.

The main map identifies Carlisle P.O., Tophet Swamp, Rail Tree Hill, Bellow Hill and the Concord River along its eastern edge. Roads, schools, a cemetery and named properties fill the town between Westford, Chelmsford, Billerica, Bedford and Concord, and the separate Carlisle village plan remains neutral.
