Elijah McCoy’s U.S. Patent 129,843, granted July 23, 1872, records Elijah McCoy’s automatic steam-engine lubricator, designed to meter oil into machinery while it remained in operation.
The single upright lubricator is rendered with the quiet authority of a precision instrument. This restored edition preserves the original Patent Office arrangement in crisp black linework on cool, timeworn rag paper within the collection’s restrained black double rule.
Printed to order on 325gsm museum-grade archival matte paper with fade-resistant archival pigment inks. A natural piece for offices, libraries, workshops, and collections of invention and industrial design.

About the Frame
