The Story Behind the Print
Ezra J. Warner’s U.S. Patent 19,063, granted January 5, 1858, documents Ezra J. Warner’s early lever-operated can opener, designed to pierce and cut around the lid of a metal container.
The long lever, hooked blade, and detached cutting details give the page the directness of a hand-tool drawing. This restored edition preserves the original Patent Office arrangement in crisp black linework on cool, timeworn rag paper within the collection’s restrained black double rule.
Printed to order on 325gsm museum-grade archival matte paper with fade-resistant archival pigment inks. A natural piece for offices, libraries, workshops, and collections of invention and industrial design.

About the Frame
Framed pieces are built to order in solid wood with clear acrylic glazing, dry-mounted artwork, a kraft paper dust cover, and hanging wire. Each piece arrives ready to hang. No mat. Satin Black has a 7/8-inch face and adds 1.25 inches to the total width and height. Slimwood Silver and Slimwood Gold have a 1 1/8-inch face and add 1.75 inches to the total width and height.
