We restore and reproduce forgotten masterworks of graphic design on museum-grade paper — so they can live on your walls instead of in an archive.
The Story Behind the Print
John L. Mason’s U.S. Patent 22186, granted November 30, 1858, documents a glass preserving jar with a threaded neck and screw closure intended to create a practical reusable seal.
The simple jar elevation, neck profile, and closure sections form a spare mid-nineteenth-century plate with quiet domestic character. This restored edition preserves the original patent arrangement in crisp black linework on cool, timeworn rag paper within the collection’s restrained black double rule.
Printed to order on 325gsm museum-grade archival matte paper with fade-resistant archival pigment inks. A natural piece for kitchens, pantries, farmhouses, restaurants, and collections of culinary history.
Colors may vary slightly between screens and the finished piece—the print will always be richer.
About the Frame
Framed pieces are built to order in solid wood with a 1.125 inch face, glazed in crystal-clear acrylic, and finished with a kraft paper dust cover and hanging wire. Your print is dry mounted so it stays perfectly flat for decades. Each framed piece arrives ready to hang.
The frame adds roughly 1.75 inches to each side of the print size you select. Framed orders are custom made and ship within 7 to 10 business days, free in the U.S. See our shipping and return policies for framed piece details.
From a Collector
“I am so pleased with this print. The reproduction is true in colour, just as described. Couldn't be happier with the entire process.”
