The Story Behind the Print
John Stanard’s U.S. Patent 455,891, granted July 14, 1891, documents John Stanard’s refrigerator, with a cooled upper chamber and air-circulation passages arranged above the food-storage compartment.
A tall cabinet elevation and cutaway chamber reveal the refrigerator as both furniture and working apparatus. This restored edition preserves the original Patent Office arrangement in crisp black linework on cool, timeworn rag paper within the collection’s restrained black double rule.
Printed to order on 325gsm museum-grade archival matte paper with fade-resistant archival pigment inks. A natural piece for offices, libraries, workshops, and collections of invention and industrial design.
Colors may vary slightly between screens and the finished piece—the print will always be richer.
