The Story Behind the Print

This 1871 Freetown, Massachusetts map print places the town outline in a pale hand-brushed sage wash on soft ivory paper, with East Freetown and Braley's Station plans for a study or library.

The town map names Assonet P.O., East Freetown P.O., Braley's Station, Assonet Bay, Long Pond, Forges Pond and Break Neck Hill. Taunton, Fall River, Dartmouth, New Bedford and Acushnet are lettered around the border, and business notices fill the lower sheet.

About the Frame

Framed pieces are built to order in solid wood with clear acrylic glazing, dry-mounted artwork, a kraft paper dust cover, and hanging wire. Each piece arrives ready to hang. No mat. Satin Black has a 7/8-inch face and adds 1.25 inches to the total width and height. Slimwood Silver and Slimwood Gold have a 1 1/8-inch face and add 1.75 inches to the total width and height.
