The Story Behind the Print

This 1870 Gardner, Massachusetts map print places the town outline in a pale hand-brushed sage wash on soft ivory paper, with a separate Gilbertville plan and business notices for a study or library.

The town map names Gardner Centre P.O., West Gardner, South Gardner P.O., Crystal Lake, Otter River, Parker Hill and Greenwood Hill. Winchendon, Ashburnham, Westminster, Hubbardston and Templeton are lettered around the border, and the Gilbertville plan is labeled Town of Hardwick.

About the Frame

Framed pieces are built to order in solid wood with clear acrylic glazing, dry-mounted artwork, a kraft paper dust cover, and hanging wire. Each piece arrives ready to hang. No mat. Satin Black has a 7/8-inch face and adds 1.25 inches to the total width and height. Slimwood Silver and Slimwood Gold have a 1 1/8-inch face and add 1.75 inches to the total width and height.
