The Story Behind the Print
This 1875 Melrose, Massachusetts map print lays the town plan in a pale hand-brushed sage wash on soft ivory paper, with streets, railways and named properties for a study or hallway.
Melrose P.O., Highlands P.O. and Wyoming appear along the Boston & Maine Railroad. Crystal Lake, Long Pond and Swain's Pond keep neutral paper and their black shoreline engraving, while Melrose Cemetery, named streets and hill hachures fill the plan.
Archive Print Co. restores each map for clarity while preserving the aged cartographic character of the original. Each reproduction is printed as a giclée art print on heavyweight 325gsm archival matte paper with archival inks.

About the Frame
Framed pieces are built to order in solid wood with clear acrylic glazing, dry-mounted artwork, a kraft paper dust cover, and hanging wire. Each piece arrives ready to hang. No mat. Satin Black has a 7/8-inch face and adds 1.25 inches to the total width and height. Slimwood Silver and Slimwood Gold have a 1 1/8-inch face and add 1.75 inches to the total width and height.
