The Story Behind the Print
This vintage woodpecker print reproduces plate 417 from John James Audubon's nineteenth-century Birds of America, restored as historical wall art for studies, libraries and nature-inspired gallery walls.
Woodpeckers gather along the branching limbs of a bare tree, their black-and-white plumage marked with bars, spots and small accents of red and yellow. The varied poses and weathered bark form a detailed natural-history study, with the original species names and credits below.

About the Frame
