The Story Behind the Print
This vintage Red-headed Woodpecker print reproduces John James Audubon's illustration from Birds of America, Plate 27, restored as historical wall art for studies, libraries, and natural history collections.
Woodpeckers gather around a weathered tree trunk, with one bird shown in flight. Brilliant red heads contrast with black-and-white wings, while smaller gray-brown birds and textured bark add quieter natural detail.
Archive Print Co. restores each illustration for clarity while preserving the character of the original. Each reproduction is printed as a giclée art print on heavyweight 325gsm archival matte paper with archival inks.

About the Frame
Framed pieces are built to order in solid wood with clear acrylic glazing, dry-mounted artwork, a kraft paper dust cover, and hanging wire. Each piece arrives ready to hang. No mat. Satin Black has a 7/8-inch face and adds 1.25 inches to the total width and height. Slimwood Silver and Slimwood Gold have a 1 1/8-inch face and add 1.75 inches to the total width and height.
