Siphoneae Print, Tafel 64Ernst Haeckel · c. 1904

Tafel 64 from Ernst Haeckel's Kunstformen der Natur (1904), titled Siphoneae, Riesen-Algen (giant algae).. The plate is printed in pale greens on a cream ground, with numbered figures, the heading Tafel 64 — Caulerpa and the title below.

Clusters of grape-like bubbles hang from creeping stems at the upper left and upper right, with a mushroom-like group of small discs rising between them. A circular cross-section sits at the center, a net-like leaf at the right and a parasol-shaped alga on a rooted stalk at the bottom. Feathery sprigs, a chain of round leaves and a tangle of thick green fronds fill the lower left and right.

Printed on 325gsm museum-grade archival matte paper using fade-resistant giclée printing with archival inks, preserving the detail and character of the original for generations.

Colors may vary slightly between screens and the finished piece — the print will always be richer.
