The Story Behind the Print

This 1873 South Hadley, Massachusetts map print follows the Connecticut River beneath Mount Holyoke. Pale pink coloring and finely engraved properties create a detailed composition for a study or library.

From F. W. Beers's 1873 Hampshire County atlas, the pink town map follows the Connecticut River from Mount Holyoke toward South Hadley Falls. Pearl City, Moody Corners, the Great Swamp, brooks, roads and named properties fill the landscape beneath a large shaded title.
