The Story Behind the Print

This 1873 South Hadley, Massachusetts map print follows the Connecticut River beneath the Mount Holyoke ridge in a pale hand-brushed sage wash on soft ivory paper, for a study or library.

The map identifies South Hadley P.O., South Hadley Falls P.O., Pearl City and Moody Corners. The Connecticut River along the western edge keeps neutral paper, with Great Swamp, Stony Brook, schools and named properties across the interior.
