The Story Behind the Print
This 1869 Wethersfield, Connecticut map print shows Wethersfield beside the Connecticut River in a faded sage wash on warm cream paper, with named districts and names beside marked buildings, plus a Griswoldville inset.
The map letters Newington Junction, Newington P.O., Griswoldville, Cedar Mountain, Cedar Hill Cemetery, The Cove, the State Prison, the Connecticut River, Tando Brook, the Hartford, Prov. & Fishkill Railroad and the New Haven Hartford and Springfield Railroad, with West Hartford, East Hartford and Glastenbury named beyond the town line.
Archive Print Co. restores each map for clarity while preserving the aged cartographic character of the original. Each reproduction is printed as a giclée art print on heavyweight 325gsm archival matte paper with archival inks.
Colors may vary slightly between screens and the finished piece; the print will always be richer in person.
