The Story Behind the Print
Anna Connelly’s U.S. Patent 368,816, granted August 23, 1887, records Anna Connelly’s exterior fire escape and bridge system, designed to provide a protected route between adjoining buildings.
Bridge trusses, paired windows, and plan details read like a concise nineteenth-century architectural study. This restored edition preserves the original Patent Office arrangement in crisp black linework on cool, timeworn rag paper within the collection’s restrained black double rule.
Printed to order on 325gsm museum-grade archival matte paper with fade-resistant archival pigment inks. A natural piece for offices, libraries, workshops, and collections of invention and industrial design.
Colors may vary slightly between screens and the finished piece—the print will always be richer.
