We restore and reproduce forgotten masterworks of graphic design on museum-grade paper — so they can live on your walls instead of in an archive.

The Story Behind the Print

Charles W. Brown's U.S. Patent 1,242, issued July 16, 1839, documents a machine for spinning hemp and other fibrous materials. The approved Patent Office sheet preserves its technical figures, labels, signatures, and documentary arrangement.

This Archive Print Co. edition retains the approved patent composition and measured border on a warm archival-paper ground. No part of the drawing is cropped or stretched.

Printed to order on 325gsm museum-grade archival matte paper with fade-resistant archival pigment inks. Available as a print or in the Slimwood Silver, Slimwood Gold, and Satin Black frame finishes.

Colors may vary slightly between screens and the finished piece—the print will always be richer.

About the Frame

Framed pieces are built to order in solid wood with a 1.125 inch face, glazed in crystal-clear acrylic, and finished with a kraft paper dust cover and hanging wire. Your print is dry mounted so it stays perfectly flat for decades. Each framed piece arrives ready to hang.

The frame adds roughly 1.75 inches to each side of the print size you select. Framed orders are custom made and ship within 7 to 10 business days, free in the U.S. See our shipping and return policies for framed piece details.

I purchased this map in the 48x36 size. The print is exactly as described and shown. I had it framed at my local frame shop and just picked it up a few days ago. The shop owner answered all my questions in a flash. If ever I should need another map...I know where to go!
This was a gift for my brother and he absolutely loves it, the print is beautiful! Justin was wonderful to work with - we asked to exchange the first print we ordered because we decided we wanted the framed version, and he was so accommodating and made the process super easy. Fantastic experience!
Just beautiful! A unique, colorful print on high quality paper! Fast shipping and nicely packaged. Seller was quick to respond, polite and reliable. I will definitely be ordering more prints from them in the future!
