Vintage Lunar Map, Early 19th Century Celestial Chart
This vintage lunar map is a fine art quality reproduction of an early 19th century astronomical chart. Originally drawn by hand with meticulous care, it records the moon’s surface in superb detail, with craters, maria, and regions carefully outlined and labeled. All annotations are written in Latin, giving the piece the feel of a serious scientific document rather than a simple illustration.
The weathered appearance and precise linework give the map an old world character that sits comfortably between art and astronomy. It invites close study, from tracing features across the lunar surface to appreciating the discipline and patience of the early observers who created it.
Premium Archival Quality
Each map is printed on heavyweight museum grade matte paper to preserve fine linework, tonal variation, and the character of the original sheet. High resolution reproduction ensures that Latin labels and small surface details remain crisp and legible over time.
A Thoughtful Gift
This lunar chart makes a meaningful gift for astronomy enthusiasts, science history fans, educators, or anyone drawn to celestial imagery with real historical substance. It works well for birthdays, housewarmings, studio decor, or as a considered addition to a study or reading room.
Color and Detail Note
Colors and tones may vary slightly due to differences in screen settings. Each print is created from high resolution imagery to ensure accurate reproduction and clear, detailed rendering of the original chart.
