We restore and reproduce forgotten masterworks of graphic design on museum-grade paper — so they can live on your walls instead of in an archive.
The Story Behind the Print
Gideon Sundback’s U.S. Patent 1219881, granted March 20, 1917, describes an interlocking fastener whose opposed rows of elements are joined and separated by a traveling slider, establishing the practical logic of the modern zipper.
Enlarged teeth, slider sections, and long fastening strips create an unusually graphic study of a familiar mechanism at multiple scales. This restored edition preserves the original patent arrangement in crisp black linework on cool, timeworn rag paper within the collection’s restrained black double rule.
Printed to order on 325gsm museum-grade archival matte paper with fade-resistant archival pigment inks. A natural piece for sewing rooms, fashion studios, workshops, and collections of everyday design.
Colors may vary slightly between screens and the finished piece—the print will always be richer.
About the Frame
Framed pieces are built to order in solid wood with a 1.125 inch face, glazed in crystal-clear acrylic, and finished with a kraft paper dust cover and hanging wire. Your print is dry mounted so it stays perfectly flat for decades. Each framed piece arrives ready to hang.
The frame adds roughly 1.75 inches to each side of the print size you select. Framed orders are custom made and ship within 7 to 10 business days, free in the U.S. See our shipping and return policies for framed piece details.
From a Collector
“I wasn't sure what size I needed. The seller was extremely helpful and offered to send mock-up images. Beautiful accent piece!”
