We restore and reproduce forgotten masterworks of graphic design on museum-grade paper — so they can live on your walls instead of in an archive.

The Story Behind the Print

U.S. Patent 79,265, granted June 23, 1868 to C. L. Sholes, C. Glidden, and S. W. Soule, records an early “Improvement in Type-Writing Machines.” The design belongs to the formative period in which the familiar office typewriter was being worked out through levers, keys, type bars, and paper-feeding mechanisms.

The sheet’s plan, elevation, and mechanical figures turn a complicated writing machine into an unusually graphic composition. This restored edition retains the documentary layout and fine black callouts, finished on a cool aged-paper ground with a restrained archival border.

Printed to order on 325gsm museum-grade archival matte paper with fade-resistant archival pigment inks. A considered piece for writers, editors, libraries, newsrooms, and historically minded workspaces.

Colors may vary slightly between screens and the finished piece—the print will always be richer.

About the Frame

Framed pieces are built to order in solid wood with a 1.125 inch face, glazed in crystal-clear acrylic, and finished with a kraft paper dust cover and hanging wire. Your print is dry mounted so it stays perfectly flat for decades. Each framed piece arrives ready to hang.

The frame adds roughly 1.75 inches to each side of the print size you select. Framed orders are custom made and ship within 7 to 10 business days, free in the U.S. See our shipping and return policies for framed piece details.

From a Collector

I am so pleased with this print. The reproduction is true in colour, just as described. Couldn't be happier with the entire process.
