Margaret E. Knight’s U.S. Patent 116,842, granted July 11, 1871, records Margaret Knight’s machine for cutting, folding, and pasting flat-bottomed paper bags in a continuous manufacturing sequence.
Dense gears, rollers, cutters, and folding assemblies spread across the page like a compact factory floor. This restored edition preserves the original Patent Office arrangement in crisp black linework on cool, timeworn rag paper within the collection’s restrained black double rule.
Printed to order on 325gsm museum-grade archival matte paper with fade-resistant archival pigment inks. A natural piece for offices, libraries, workshops, and collections of invention and industrial design.

About the Frame
