We restore and reproduce forgotten masterworks of graphic design on museum-grade paper — so they can live on your walls instead of in an archive.

The Story Behind the Print

Nathaniel Alexander’s U.S. Patent 997,108, granted July 4, 1911, records Nathaniel Alexander’s folding-chair design, whose seat and back collapse into a compact arrangement for storage and transport.

Chair elevations, folding geometry, and a compact plan view create a spare modern furniture study. This restored edition preserves the original Patent Office arrangement in crisp black linework on cool, timeworn rag paper within the collection’s restrained black double rule.

Printed to order on 325gsm museum-grade archival matte paper with fade-resistant archival pigment inks. A natural piece for offices, libraries, workshops, and collections of invention and industrial design.

Colors may vary slightly between screens and the finished piece—the print will always be richer.

About the Frame

Framed pieces are built to order in solid wood with clear acrylic glazing, dry-mounted artwork, a kraft paper dust cover, and hanging wire. Each piece arrives ready to hang. No mat. Satin Black has a 7/8-inch face and adds 1.25 inches to the total width and height. Slimwood Silver and Slimwood Gold have a 1 1/8-inch face and add 1.75 inches to the total width and height.

The selected size refers to the artwork itself. Framed orders are custom made and ship within 7 to 10 business days, free in the U.S. See our shipping and return policies for framed piece details.

I couldn't believe my eyes when I unpacked the New York Times print. The quality is amazing and it really almost looks as if you have an old copy in your hand - once it's on the wall you can barely tell the difference. I am super happy with this print and would recommend shopping at this store anytime. Thank you so much!
I contacted Paolo to see if she had a map of a certain coastal area that wasn't currently available on her site. She responded within a few hours and located the print by the next day. I received the map a few days after shipping. I couldn't be happier with the quality of the print or the service. She was an absolute pleasure to deal with!!!
The print is beautiful and exactly what I expected. The customer service was OUTSTANDING. The seller went above and beyond to make sure I got my item in time for Christmas and even sent out a new one next day shipped because the first one wasn’t moving along fast enough through the postal service. Definitely recommend this seller and will be purchasing more from this shop in the future. Thank you!
