The Story Behind the Print
This vintage American Sparrow Hawk print reproduces plate 142 from John James Audubon's nineteenth-century Birds of America, restored as historical wall art for studies, libraries and nature-inspired gallery walls.
Three small falcons appear among leafy branches and clusters of green fruit. Russet tails, slate-blue wings and cream-colored breasts create bold contrasts, while the upper bird bends over a small mammal and the lower bird fans its tail and wings.
Archive Print Co. restores each illustration for clarity while preserving the character of the original. Each reproduction is printed as a giclée art print on heavyweight 325gsm archival matte paper with archival inks.
Colors may vary slightly between screens and the finished piece; the print will always be richer in person.
