The Story Behind the Print
This Audubon bird print reproduces plate 361 from John James Audubon's nineteenth-century Birds of America. Its engraved title names the Long-tailed, or Dusky Grous.
Two grouse occupy a rocky mountain landscape. The darker bird extends its long tail across the left foreground while the second stands on a grassy rise. Red markings around their eyes, a waterfall, distant slopes, and the original folio lettering give the composition its distinctive detail.
Archive Print Co. restores each illustration for clarity while preserving the character of the original. Each reproduction is printed as a giclée art print on heavyweight 325gsm archival matte paper with archival inks.

About the Frame
Framed pieces are built to order in solid wood with clear acrylic glazing, dry-mounted artwork, a kraft paper dust cover, and hanging wire. Each piece arrives ready to hang. No mat. Satin Black has a 7/8-inch face and adds 1.25 inches to the total width and height. Slimwood Silver and Slimwood Gold have a 1 1/8-inch face and add 1.75 inches to the total width and height.
