The Story Behind the Print
This 1910 Provincetown, Massachusetts map print sets the Cape Cod town in a pale hand-brushed sage wash on soft ivory paper, with a Mayflower Heights plan and a waterfront street strip.
The index map marks Provincetown, Truro, Herring Cove, Race Run, Telegraph Hill, Gull Hill, Long Point and Wood End Light, with Cape Cod Bay and Barnstable County on the inset. Bradford and Commercial streets run through the strip plan.
Archive Print Co. restores each map for clarity while preserving the aged cartographic character of the original. Each reproduction is printed as a giclée art print on heavyweight 325gsm archival matte paper with archival inks.
Colors may vary slightly between screens and the finished piece; the print will always be richer in person.
About the Frame
Framed pieces are built to order in solid wood with clear acrylic glazing, dry-mounted artwork, a kraft paper dust cover, and hanging wire. Each piece arrives ready to hang. No mat. Satin Black has a 7/8-inch face and adds 1.25 inches to the total width and height. Slimwood Silver and Slimwood Gold have a 1 1/8-inch face and add 1.75 inches to the total width and height.
