The Story Behind the Print
Tafel 26 from Ernst Haeckel's Kunstformen der Natur (1904), published in 1904, titled Trachomedusae and captioned Kolbenquallen. The plate is a colour study of jellyfish in soft green and rose on cream paper.
Seven numbered jellyfish appear in cross-section and profile, with coiling, beaded tentacles. A round medusa seen from above sits at the centre with a six-pointed star at its middle and curling tentacles at the edges. Four bells seen from the side hang in the corners, trailing long, looped tentacles. A small figure at the top centre and a six-pointed, leaf-patterned star at the bottom complete the numbering.
Printed on 325gsm museum-grade archival matte paper using fade-resistant giclée printing with archival inks, preserving the detail and character of the original for generations.

About the Frame
Framed pieces are built to order in solid wood with clear acrylic glazing, dry-mounted artwork, a kraft paper dust cover, and hanging wire. Each piece arrives ready to hang. No mat. Satin Black has a 7/8-inch face and adds 1.25 inches to the total width and height. Slimwood Silver and Slimwood Gold have a 1 1/8-inch face and add 1.75 inches to the total width and height.
