The Story Behind the Print

This 1884 West Newbury, Massachusetts map print follows a long bend of the Merrimac River, with the town in a pale hand-brushed sage wash on soft ivory paper for a study or library wall.

The Merrimac River runs along the northern and western edge in neutral paper, and the map names Indian River, the Artichoke, Crane Neck Pond, Crane Neck Hill, Indian Hill and Turkey Hill among roads and named properties. Groveland, Newbury and Newburyport mark the neighboring boundaries.

Archive Print Co. restores each map for clarity while preserving the aged cartographic character of the original. Each reproduction is printed as a giclée art print on heavyweight 325gsm archival matte paper with archival inks.

About the Frame

Framed pieces are built to order in solid wood with clear acrylic glazing, dry-mounted artwork, a kraft paper dust cover, and hanging wire. Each piece arrives ready to hang. No mat. Satin Black has a 7/8-inch face and adds 1.25 inches to the total width and height. Slimwood Silver and Slimwood Gold have a 1 1/8-inch face and add 1.75 inches to the total width and height.
