We restore and reproduce forgotten masterworks of graphic design on museum-grade paper — so they can live on your walls instead of in an archive.

The Story Behind the Print

William D. Middlebrook’s U.S. Patent 636,272, granted November 7, 1899, records William D. Middlebrook’s machine for forming wire paper clips through coordinated feed, bending, cutting, and discharge mechanisms.

The broad plan of gears, cams, shafts, and wire-forming stations creates one of the collection’s richest machine drawings. This restored edition preserves the original Patent Office arrangement in crisp black linework on cool, timeworn rag paper within the collection’s restrained black double rule.

Printed to order on 325gsm museum-grade archival matte paper with fade-resistant archival pigment inks. A natural piece for offices, libraries, workshops, and collections of invention and industrial design.

Colors may vary slightly between screens and the finished piece—the print will always be richer.

About the Frame

Framed pieces are built to order in solid wood with clear acrylic glazing, dry-mounted artwork, a kraft paper dust cover, and hanging wire. Each piece arrives ready to hang. No mat. Satin Black has a 7/8-inch face and adds 1.25 inches to the total width and height. Slimwood Silver and Slimwood Gold have a 1 1/8-inch face and add 1.75 inches to the total width and height.

The selected size refers to the artwork itself. Framed orders are custom made and ship within 7 to 10 business days, free in the U.S. See our shipping and return policies for framed piece details.

I received the print in perfect condition. It is so beautiful!! I love it. My fault - I didn't read your comments about framing being a separate item. I would have loved to have you frame it too. You do wonderful work. Thank you.
Beautiful! This is my 4th purchase - And definitely not my last! I love all 5 of the prints and they are absolutely gorgeous 😍 I know all my reviews are redundant - Beautiful Beautiful Beautiful ❤️
