The Story Behind the Print
Joseph F. Glidden’s U.S. Patent 157124, granted November 24, 1874, documents a wire fence in which short sharpened pieces are held in place by a second twisted wire.
Enlarged knots, barbs, and twisting details make the modest fence material read as a rhythmic study in line and tension. This restored edition preserves the original patent arrangement in crisp black linework on cool, timeworn rag paper within the collection’s restrained black double rule.
Printed to order on 325gsm museum-grade archival matte paper with fade-resistant archival pigment inks. A natural piece for farmhouses, ranch offices, workshops, and collections of agricultural history.

About the Frame
Framed pieces are built to order in solid wood with clear acrylic glazing, dry-mounted artwork, a kraft paper dust cover, and hanging wire. Each piece arrives ready to hang. No mat. Satin Black has a 7/8-inch face and adds 1.25 inches to the total width and height. Slimwood Silver and Slimwood Gold have a 1 1/8-inch face and add 1.75 inches to the total width and height.
